An excellent cover to what is possibly my favorite Barsoom book outside of the original trilogy.
That is so cool. I am always fascinated by any aspect of the creative process.
For me, the “true” covers are D’Achille for 1, 2 and 4, and Whelan for 3 and 5-11. (Although I now have full runs of both, of course.)
Great post! FMoM is the book that first took me to Barsoom. Lester definitely knew his ERB. Whelan is a national treasure.
