New Star Trek Into Darkness Trailer Features More ‘Splosions

Saturday, March 23rd, 2013 | Posted by John ONeill

The trailers are coming fast and furious now. This one reveals a bit more of the plot, including a high-level Federation meeting, some shots of 23rd Century London, and a chilling scene in the last few seconds.

We last reported on Star Trek Into Darkness when we asked “Did Entertainment Weekly Reveal that Benedict Cumberbatch is Playing Khan?” here, and in “Star Trek Into Darkness Poster Fuels Gary Mitchell Speculation” (here).

Star Trek Into Darkness is directed by J. J. Abrams, and written by Alex Kurtzman, Damon Lindelof and Roberto Orci. It is the twelfth feature-length Star Trek film and the sequel to 2009′s Star Trek. It is set for release on May 17, 2013.

  1. I hate to say this, but this movie looks like it stole elements from Skyfall:

    1. The helicopter assault

    2. The army of men who show up at “Skyfall” with the villain.

    3. The assault in London with the flag draped coffins.

I wonder if Kirk has any mommy issues in the movie.

  2. 007 wasn’t the one with the mommy issues, it was his opponent, Silva. If the elements you mention continue, it will be Benedict with those issues.

I watched the trailer reluctantly and it’s probably the last one I will watch. I don’t want to spoil my anticipation and enjoyment of this film.

I think this is an exciting year for fantasy/sci-fi films: Iron Man3, Thor2, a new Superman, The Hobbit2 and in my search, I found there will be new Riddick and a REDs 2 movie.
