MagicMirror-JKT.inddIt’s good to be the editor. For example, I pretend I do a weekly bargain books update, and no one corrects me — even though the last one was in April. Thank you for indulging me in my shared fantasy.

Unfortunately, of the ones I would want, I already have Flood, and I have the first two volumes of The Last Chronicles of Thomas Covenant in hardcover, so would probably want the same for the third volume.

Speaking of Stephen R. Donaldson, his two books of his shorter fiction, “Daughter of Regals and Other Tales” and “Reave the Just and Other Tales”, are both excellent–among the best collections of short fiction that I’ve ever read. The first is a mixture of fantasy and science fiction, and he does both well, while the second is pure fantasy. Either would probably be to the taste of most Black Gate readers.

I’ve had the Mordant’s Need series in my library for some time, but haven’t gotten around to reading them. I suspect I’ll like them, but what didn’t you like about The Mirror…?

Also haven’t tried his science fiction series yet, The Gap Into Conflict, which I’ve also had in my library for some time. Given how big a fan I am of the Covenant series, and his collections of short fiction, it’s actually kind of surprising that I haven’t read the others yet, until I remember that I have literally 1000s of unread books and fiction magazines sitting in my library. I suspect some things will have to wait for retirement.
