Keep Up With the Latest Releases from Black Gate Authors — October Edition

As we head into fall, the list of upcoming novels, stories and features from Black Gate‘s authors and bloggers continues to expand — and grow more and more impressive. Here’s a partial list of the current and upcoming releases from some of your favorite BG writers.

The Harbors of the Sun by Martha Wells, the last in the Books of the Raksura series, came out in July from Night Shade Books
After the End of the World by Jonathan L. Howard, Volume 2 in the Carter & Lovecraft series, will be published in hardcover by Thomas Dunne on November 14
Todd McAulty’s debut novel The Robots of Gotham arrives in hardcover from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt on June 19
Howard Andrew Jones’ For the Killing of Kings, the opening novel in a brand new epic fantasy series, arrives in hardcover from Thomas Dunne in July 2018
Derek Kunsken’s debut novel The Quantum Magician will be published by Solaris in 2018, and serialized in Analog starting with the January/February issue

Tales From the Magician's Skull 1-small The-Art-of-the-Pulps-Doug-Ellis-small

James Enge, Chris Willrich, John C. Hocking, and Howard Andrew Jones all have new tales of sword & sorcery appearing in the upcoming first issue of Tales From the Magician’s Skull
The Art of the Pulps, edited by Ed Hulse, Robert Weinberg, and BG blogger Douglas Ellis, will be published by IDW Publishing on October 24
Jackson Kuhl’s newest collection The Dead Ride Fast is is now available at Amazon and Kobo
Claire Suzanne Elizabeth Cooney’s short story “Though She Be But Little” is available online as part of the September/October issue of Uncanny magazine
Bob Byrne has become something of a regular in The MX Book of New Sherlock Holmes Stories; his latest story is in Part VI
The Stars at my Door, the last original anthology in Neil Baker’s Short Sharp Shocks line, was published by April Moon Books on August 12

The Power of the Sapphire Wand, Creepy Hollow Adventures 2, by Joe Bonadonna and Erika M. Szabo, arrives this month in print and ebook
Elizabeth Cady’s web serial Storm and Ash continues to draw new readers
Halls of Law by “V. M. Escalada” (Violette Malan) was published by DAW Books on August 1
This month Jason M Waltz is releasing Challenge! Discovery, the first Rogue Blades Entertainment book in over four years — with stories by Gabe Dybing, Frederic S. Durbin, and Nick Ozment

Frostgrave Ghost Archipelago The Best of Heroic Fantasy Quarterly Volume 2-small A Tyranny of Queens-small

Joseph A. McCullough’s Frostgrave: Ghost Archipelago will be published by Osprey Games on October 24
Adrian Simmons is publishing Volume 2 of The Best of Heroic Fantasy Quarterly in time for the World Fantasy Convention at the end of October
Charles de Lint’s self-published his new novel for adults, The Wind in His Heart, last month
Tina Jens has an essay, “Newsflash: Frog and Toad Gay Lovers!” which looks at the outing of the Frog and Toad books creator as gay, in Hair Trigger 2.0
Foz Meadows’s second novel in The Manifold Worlds, A Tyranny of Queens, was published on May 2 by Angry Robot
