I’ve never been fond of Eberron, since the focus on science and magic moves it away from what I love about fantasy, but I must say the way you phrased your giveaway made me laugh out loud.

Actually, I tried my hand at fiction just after I got married. Alice had a one-year teaching position in Belgium, and I quit my job at Amoco to follow her. I spent the year writing short stories and mailing them across the ocean to Asimov’s, Analog, and F&SF.

But frankly, I wasn’t good enough to break in to any of those magazines. I haven’t tried since. I still think about it, of course. But for now, all my energies are focused on Black Gate.
