I haven't seen the movie, but that line was also the most memorable part of the graphic novel.

And, of course, "Never compromise - not even in the face of Armageddon."

DC should start doing a "Rorschach's Journal" series, where the narrator is either Rorschach or just some crazy guy who thinks he's Rorschach. (What else was Rorschach?)

But they won't! They don't do the least little thing to oblige me.

Not only the best line, I thought it was the best moment in the movie.

Having never read the graphic novel, I went to the movie Friday anticipating the anti-hero take on superheroes. I had previously loved 300, and so expected some artistic violence from Snyder, as long as it came naturally from the story.

For me the best part of the film was Rorschach and hearing his noir-style narration while acting psychotic. I also appreciated the philosophies, but I differ in feeling like I needed a brain.

What blew it for me was the unnecessary torture-porn gore, the awful music, and the constant flashbacks to hammer home the obvious. From the character's dialog and actions I had a good understanding of who they were. I didn't need to see a girl's foot chewed on by two dogs to realize Rorschach had lost his sense of humanity along the way.

Best line: "You think I'm locked in here with you. You're locked in here with me."

I watched the movie last night. Haven't read the graphic novel. Haley stole show, especially while unmasked. Morgan's was the only other performance I thought good. (No surprise, those were the only two characters I found interesting.) The rest, including Wilson, left me indifferent at best.

I enjoyed the hard questions asked, but thought the movie was too long, too slow. It's hard to bore me with action sequences, but it managed. And really, when one main character keeps drifting farther from humanity, and another is aloof throughout, is it any wonder I start to adopt their attitudes?

That said, I may buy it just for Haley. The prison scenes would be watched many, many times.
